TINKARA DRESS

A sculptural dress defined by cascading geometric folds and architectural layering.
The Tinkara Dress is part of The Geometry of Feeling collection, where visual art, geometry, and the body intertwine. Constructed from geometric planes without conventional cutting, the garment is developed using an origami-inspired technique guided by the zero-waste principle, allowing the material to transform into a dynamic three-dimensional silhouette.
The cut is entirely non-repeatable, as the dress is shaped directly on the mannequin without the use of traditional patterns. The design process evolves intuitively through folding, layering, and spatial exploration of the fabric.
Made from waterproof cotton, the material was chosen for its ability to maintain sculptural structure while remaining light and flexible. The fabric highlights the crisp edges of the folds and emphasizes the architectural geometry of the garment.
The dress features layered diagonal panels across the bodice, creating a striking sculptural knot-like composition at the chest. Structured folds extend across the shoulders and upper back, forming an architectural frame around the neckline.
Asymmetrical cascading panels flow toward the hem, producing a fluid yet controlled silhouette. The back reveals a softer geometric composition that balances the strong front structure.
Designed in a loose-fit silhouette, the garment adapts naturally to different body shapes.

The Tinkara Dress can be worn front or back, offering two distinct yet equally expressive silhouettes.
Each piece is one of a kind and handcrafted in Slovenia. The dress is made from deadstock fabric sourced from a textile archive. The Tinkara Dress reflects the sustainable philosophy of the Nika Ravnik brand, combining sculptural experimentation, timeless design, and respect for material. The waterproof cotton fabric creates a structured sculptural surface and natural texture that may develop soft creases as part of the garment’s character.
