BRINA DRESS

A sculptural dress shaped through folding, layering, and intuitive draping.
The Brina Dress is part of The Geometry of Feeling collection, where visual art, geometry, and the body intertwine. Constructed from basic geometric planes without conventional cutting, using an origami technique, the garment evolves into a distinctive three-dimensional and voluminous silhouette guided by the zero-waste principle.
The cut is entirely non-repeatable, as the dress is created directly on the mannequin without the use of traditional patterns. The shaping process unfolds intuitively through folding, layering, and spatial exploration of the material.
The material used is waterproof cotton, intentionally selected for its ability to hold structure and emphasize the dramatic folds and architectural sharpness of the planes.
With pronounced layering on the shoulders and sleeves, a diagonal break at the waist, and an asymmetrical hemline, the garment transforms into a complex yet balanced composition. The dress creates a strong, almost ceremonial presence while maintaining wearability and freedom of movement.
Designed in a loose-fit silhouette, the garment adapts to different body shapes.
The Brina Dress can be worn front or back, offering two equally expressive silhouettes.
Each piece is one of a kind and handcrafted in Slovenia. The dress is made from deadstock fabric sourced from a textile archive. The Brina Dress embodies the sustainable philosophy of the Nika Ravnik brand, combining timeless design, experimentation, and respect for material. The waterproof cotton fabric creates a structured sculptural surface and natural texture that may develop soft creases as part of the garment’s character.
